My husband and I have started going to Stax for dinner once a week—and it’s quickly become one of our favorite routines. Last time we went, I tried their Greek Green Beans, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them. They were so good, I specifically said I’d be getting them tonight. When we order, our waitress tells me they’re not on the menu every day and rotate every few weeks. I was so bummed! My husband suggested I ask when they’d be back, so when a guy in a Stax polo passes by the table and asks how everything is, I decided to ask him. He explained the schedule (which is now saved in my phone with alert set!), and I made sure to tell him how much I loved them and that we’d definitely be back when they returned. A little while later, as we’re eating, the same guy comes back out with a small bowl in hand. He said they weren’t exactly the same, but he tried to make a small serving for me as best he could and hoped they’d be close. I was SHOCKED! This is the type of kindness and care that gets a loyal customer. The thoughtfulness to do that is something I won’t forget. I found out his name is Michael, and he’s one of the owners. Thank you, Michael, for going out of your way to make my day. Oh, and those green beans? They were delicious—I ate every single bite. This is why I love small businesses. It’s the personal touches and care that make experiences like this so special. And if you’re in Greenville and haven’t been to Stax yet, what are you waiting for?

Stopped by Stax’s Original for breakfast and left absolutely impressed. No wait time, which is a miracle these days, and the atmosphere was perfect — cozy, classic, and full of that southern hospitality energy you hope for in a local spot. I ordered an omelet with a side of home fries, fresh fruit, and yogurt — and every bite was on point. The omelet was fluffy, packed with flavor, and clearly made with care. The home fries had that perfect golden crisp and seasoning that makes you wish you ordered a double portion. The fruit was super fresh (grapes, blueberries, strawberries — all sweet and chilled), and the strawberry yogurt was a great way to round out the meal. Service was top-tier. Friendly staff, quick coffee refills, and just a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. You can tell this is a spot locals love — and now I do too.

Phenomenal breakfast I had the omelet and husband had the French toast. I had the pleasure of sitting by Burt who is a regular here. We chatted about the pictures on the walls and where we're from and where we're going. He told me how he's been frequently coming to the diner for years. Pleasant place with nice locals. Our waitress was amazing as well taking care of a ton of people on a busy Saturday morning and doing it well. Definitely will come back soon. Thanks for a wonderful breakfast.

The place that started the local eating dynasty. Been around for forever and the community still piles in to eat on a regular basis. It’s a classic diner with the usual choices, but done with care day in and day out. Basic food done right.

Our first time eating at this classic breakfast diner, and it’s worth the hype! A bit of a wait to get a seat, even at almost 11am, but the line moved quickly. The service was fast and friendly, but the food is the main attraction. The egg white omelette was delicious and the breakfast potatoes were also very good. The biscuits and toast did not disappoint either. Lots of colorful decor and posters supporting Furman athletics too.

This is a great old style diner. Meat and 3. Greek owners and influence. The food was great and our server was prompt and knowledgeable. This place was started in the 50s and has the original counter seating configurations.

We had 11 people to be seated on a Sunday, and they had us sitting down in 5 minutes . The breakfast was very good. The service was on point, and we all walked out happy and full. If you are in the area, consider taking a step back in time and grab yourself a delicious breakfast.

I enjoyed the friendly service here today. Although busy I was still taken care of. I ordered cottage cheese and tropical fruit which was very refreshing. My breakfast companion enjoyed their two eggs, sausage with grits. The grits should have cooked a little longer, other than that the breakfast was delicious. I look forward to coming back again when I'm visiting Greenville.
